31 Day Challenge

That's right people! It's that time of year again when brave girls across the internet attempt to crank out 31 awesome manis in 31 days! Scared? Well don't because it's all for fun. This will be my first time around and I can't wait! I will admit to being a tad nervous because my schedule is so crazy right now but even if I don't make the 31 days I'll still stick to the categories selected.

See you guys tomorrow!!

Nerd loven'

Hey ladies, hope everyone is having a splendid week thus far. I like some of you find myself back in school so I'd like to share with you what I've been wearing the last two days. This oldy but goody might register to a few of you as Gorramit from the Firefly collection created by the late great Nerdlacquer. This is one of those special colors that speaks for itself. In a bold mustard yellow, Gorramit is jam packed with both fine and chunky glitter in orange and red. I've noticed in the polish community ladies seem a little scared of yellow but how can you not immediately fall in love with this shade? I personally think it's a warm enough color to complement any range of skin tones.

I've been dying to stamp over this bad boy but do to lack of time I decided to complement this vibrant color with the equally fantastic Deutsch You Want Me Baby? from OPI's Germany collection followed by a thin coat of Orly's Shining Star.

Paint Drips

While working at the new house today I remember a really fun post I saw a while back by Very Emily that would be so perfect for the remodeling we're doing right now. Miss Emily is a very talented girl from Belgium   who does lots of reviews, swatches and of course really spectacular nail art. Anyways the post I referring to tonight can be found here.

The colors I used are OPI My Very First Knockwurst, China Glaze First Mate and Essie Loophole. For some reason Loophole doesn't really translate well in these pictures, but it really makes the blobs pop off the base coat.

Facebook

Just a quick post tonight guys. I've just created a Facebook page for this blog which you can find here. Feel free to like, comment or post any of your own nail art on to the page I love checking out new stuff!

DS Mystery

I made another clearance score the other day and came away with OPI DS Mystery which has long been on my list of must haves and I just about died when I saw it on the shelf. It's not one of the crazy expensive DS polish out there but I don't really like ordering polish online since I'm too impatient to wait for the damn package to arrive. My poor harassed mail man can attested to that. Anyways I finally got the hang of these glitters from Born Pretty Store, thanks to The Nailasaurus this woman and this tutorial are genius!!

These pictures are pre-filing so next round of pictures these bad boys are going to look like little square chiclets which I must say I like. Until next time people I've got moving to do.

Magnetix

Hey everyone, I've got some good and bad news. The good news is I just bought a house which is crazy and exciting and stressful all at the same time. The bad new is my move will be done over the course of several weeks starting now til mid September so my post may be a bit sporadic til I get my nail station set up. In the mean time I decided to brake out my magnetic nail polish and get to work.  To create the initial gold wavy pattern I used painters tape and some craft scissors.  I then filled in the tips using the actual brush from the China Glaze bottle.

The following pictures are from my right hand (gasp!). Yes it exists. I couldn't decide if I like the black tips enough to repeat the process on this hand so I ended up leaving it alone. I think the gold pattern turned out much crisper on this hand anyways.

For these nails I used Zoya Kendal, China Glaze Liquid Leather and Claire's Magnetix Gold.

New Meets Old Striping

I did a little shopping this past week and manged to get a few of OPI new Germany collection as well as a few clearance polishes from China Glaze, ULTA, Essie, Zoya and OPI. I'd like to think I'm pretty good about pacing myself when it come to buying new colors but when quality brands go on sale that mindset just goes out the window. To justify these purchases I decided to pick a color combo that would use colors from the clearance and new picks.

For the base I used Essie's Loophole which to me is a dead ringer for No Place Like Chrome, with a price difference of about six bucks thanks to ULTA's sale. Next I used OPI's Schnapps Out of It! on top of striping tape to make the strip pattern. I really like this color duo because Schnapps Out of It! has a silver shimmer that is only noticeable in certain lights, it's also dark enough to really set off the silver. The other colors I manged to snag where Zoya Kendal, ULTA Heirhead, OPI Stranger Tides and China Glaze Westside Warrior.

Good as Gold Indeed

Happy Monday people, nothing like some fun nails to brighten up another LONG week. Essie's Good as Gold looks good with everything so I couldn't help the but pair it with this soft mauve. To me this color combo is sweet and sexy at the same time (wink lol). I couldn't decide which Bundle Monster plate to go with so I chose several and decided to make this a skittles manicure.

As I mentioned above I used Essie's Good as Gold for my accent color and the base is once again some unnamed mystery color I ordered from Alloy maybe a year ago. I used BM-311 and BM-303 for the various stamping and painters and striping tape for my pinky finger. Are you ladies gold or silver fans?

Gold Gradient

Good morning people, hope everyone is having a great weekend. I finally got my hands on Essie Good as Gold so here's what I've come up with.

For the base I've used Anise Is this Love? and Essie Good as Gold for the gradient. The pictures for some reason look kind of white but I assure you my tips are gold. Once the gradient was dry, I stamped using plate BM- 307 and topped it all off with Essie Matte About You. I think the matte top coat kind of brings everything together. I'm really frustrated with this manicure because Anise Is this Love? stains my nails pretty terribly so it's almost impossible for me to get a nice clean up.  Oh well, until next time people, I'm off to cook some breakfast. Is it an omelette day or some good old pancakes??

Glitter!

Hey everyone, hope the weeks going okay for everyone. I just got finished with a big project so I'm celebrating with s fun new mani. I've been sporting this really pretty rosy nude all week and I liked it so much I decided to keep it and spice up my accent finger. This weekend I finally received my order from Born Pretty where I ordered a few colors of this glitter and another pack of 2mm gold studs, so I've couldn't wait to use it.

For this manicure I used Savvy French Cafe, L.A. Colors black, and of course the gold glitter. I think these guys are super cute, what do you think?
